Join the Municipal Embedded Generation Support Programme now! Slots available for 2025!

South Africa has seen a significant increase in embedded generation (EG) in recent years. Several factors also signal that the market is only expected to grow exponentially. As a result, the Embedded Generation Support Programme for Municipalities was created to offer support to municipal utilities with:

🚀Enhancing application and approval processes for EG customers
🔗Safely integrating EG systems onto municipal networks
🌱Developing sustainable business models for municipalities
⚡Support with various aspects of their energy transition

The programme offers capacity building support for all municipalities in the form of:

🎓 In-person training for partner municipalities
📜 Access to certified trainings, resources, and tools
🛠️ Technical assistance tailored to their needs
🤝 Peer exchange platform for collaborative learning

The 5-day in-person training on Embedded Generation, scheduled for the 24-28th February 2025, is a practical training on how to implement an EG application process for your municipality, and will include the latest theory on EG technologies, the regulatory framework, and technical and financial requirements for EG integration. Municipalities also walk away from the training with a set of customized documents ready for Council approval and access to technical advice to support the implementation process.

Training, technical support and resources on other specialist EG topics are also available on Cost of supply studies, EG Tariffs, Wheeling, Bi-directional metering, Grid Impact studies, Power Quality issues and much more.

Endorsed by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) and the South African Local Government Association (SALGA), this programme is being implemented by Sustainable Energy Africa NPC (SEA), Solar Training Centre, Digsilent Buyisa, and Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
