Advisor for Embedded Generation (seconded to CoCT and SARETEC)

Uwe is a highly experienced civil engineer (Dipl.-Ing.) with a rich background in renewable energy, construction and project management. Currently serving as a Technical Advisor in solar and wind energy projects at SAGEN since May 2019, Uwe is supporting the South African Renewable Energy Technology Centre (SARETEC) and the municipal Electricity Department under Sustainable Energy Markets of the City of Cape Town. His expertise in renewable energy extends back to his time as Programme Manager for Hybrid Power Plants at Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), where he oversaw the deployment of solar, wind, and biogas power plants. Uwe’s career has been marked by a passion for clean energy solutions and project management. His extensive experience also includes roles as a consultant for Eskom and leadership positions at various energy companies in Europe.
