Senior Technical Advisor for Electricity Distribution Industry Reform

Chenai holds a BEngHons Electrical Engineering degree and has a demonstrated history of working as a power systems engineer and sustainable energy systems. Currently, she is working as a Senior Technical Advisor in the Capacities for the Energy Transition (CET) project within SAGEN. This involves providing advisory services for the South African electricity distribution industry to increase the capacities of decision-makers to anticipate and evaluate approaches and concepts relevant to the South African power sector reform and to strengthen the capacities of key national institutions to implement these requirements. Prior to her current role, Chenai worked as a Power Planning Solutions Consultant with extensive experience in power system studies, energy markets, network innovation, project management, electricity regulation, power planning and Team Leadership. She has extensive technical experience in the Energy Sector across different geographies accompanied by a passion for providing solutions for a more sustainable electricity supply industry in South Africa.
