Senior Technical Advisor for Electricity Distribution Industry Reform
Tebogo currently serves as a Senior Technical Advisor for Electricity Distribution Industry Reform, bringing over 15 years of experience in energy, climate change and environmental management to the role. He holds a Master’s degree in Urban Studies, specializing in sustainable and energy efficient cities, as well as a BSc Honours in Atmospheric Science. His career reflects a strong commitment to advancing sustainable energy systems and addressing environmental and climate-related challenges in South Africa.
Prior to his current role, Tebogo worked on the Municipal Energy Management Systems (MEMS), supporting municipalities in strengthening energy management practices. Tebogo also served as Assistant Director: Climate Change at the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy, where he contributed to the development and implementation of energy-related climate change response measures, programmes and projects. Earlier in his career, he worked as a technician specializing in air quality monitoring and modelling at the City of Johannesburg, where he managed the city’s ambient air quality monitoring network and stack emissions testing programmes, supporting compliance with environmental legislation and standards.
