We have proudly supported five incredible women from South Africa to be part of the second cohort of the African Women in Energy Regulation – Leadership Programme (AWER-LP).
AWER-LP, implemented by the African School of Regulation and GET.transform, combines online learning with an in-person session in Accra, Ghana. It aims to strengthen leadership, technical expertise, and networks in energy regulation, helping address the underrepresentation of women in senior roles and drive more inclusive energy systems across Africa.
One participant, Pauline Mathibedi, reflected, “The experience was truly life changing. It has increased awareness and fostered remarkable growth and development.”
By supporting this initiative, SAGEN continues to help develop a strong pipeline of skilled female leaders advancing Africa’s energy transition.
